The MIAX Options Exchange received an Approval Order from the SEC of its Application for Registration as a National Securities Exchange on December 3, 2012. Trading on the MIAX Options Exchange, a fully electronic options trading exchange, commenced on December 7, 2012. The MIAX Options Exchange is a fully automated electronic options exchange for the trading of OCC issued standardized options on equities and ETFs.

The MIAX Options Exchange is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Miami International Holdings, Inc. (MIH). The initial focus of MIH was to leverage management’s expertise and relationships in the equity options space to launch the MIAX Options Exchange.

MIAX has assembled a team with deep rooted experience in developing, operating and trading on options exchanges.
